What to consider before booking
A fixed split system can cool a room and, where designed for it, provide heating too. Good design considers comfort, noise, appearance and maintenance access alongside capacity. The right solution for a bedroom can be different from one for a glazed extension.
Single-split or multi-split?
A single-split system connects one indoor unit to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to a shared outdoor unit. Compare simultaneous capacity, pipe routes, room use and the consequences of sharing one outdoor unit. One hallway unit should not be assumed to cool bedrooms behind closed doors.
Bedroom comfort and indoor unit position
The unit should distribute air effectively without blowing directly over a bed or desk. Ask about sound levels at useful operating settings, not only the quietest fan mode. Condensate drainage and future cleaning access can affect where the unit can sensibly go.
Outdoor position, permissions and drainage
The outdoor unit needs suitable clearances and access. Boundaries, neighbouring windows, vibration transmission and pipe routes should be considered before fixing its location. Flats, shared buildings and protected properties may need additional consents. Scottish planning requirements must be checked for the proposed installation.
Heating mode and running costs
Reversible air-to-air systems can heat rooms, but normally do not supply domestic hot water. Running cost depends on electrical input, tariff and usage, not just the quoted cooling output. Discuss how the new system will work alongside your existing boiler or other heating.
How much does home air conditioning installation cost?
Energy Saving Trust’s indicative air-to-air heat-pump figure. Equipment, number of rooms and installation routes affect the quote.
This is a published reference figure, not an Aura offer or a guaranteed local price. Obtain a written quotation confirming the complete scope, exclusions and VAT treatment.

Enquire about home air conditioning installationYour questions answered
Can air conditioning heat my home too?
A suitable reversible system can heat the rooms it serves. Capacity and cold-weather performance must be assessed, and hot water normally needs a separate arrangement.
Do you install portable air conditioners?
This service focuses on fixed domestic systems. Describe the equipment and rooms when enquiring so the correct scope can be agreed.
Does a multi-split cool every room independently?
Individual room settings are possible with suitable equipment, but total capacity and operating-mode constraints depend on the model.
