What to consider before booking
Weak cooling does not automatically mean the system needs more refrigerant. Airflow, controls, drainage, electrical faults and refrigerant circuit problems can produce overlapping symptoms. The equipment and the original installation both matter.
Weak cooling or heating
Record the selected mode, set temperature, fan behaviour and any error code. Explain whether every indoor unit is affected or only one. Restricted airflow and control settings need to be distinguished from equipment faults before deciding on a repair.
Water leaking from the indoor unit
The condensate route, drain connection or pump may need attention. Continued operation can risk water damage. Switch the system off if it is leaking and you can do so safely using its normal controls, and describe where the water appears. Do not dismantle the unit.
Noise, vibration and repeated errors
A rattle, fan noise and transmitted vibration may have different causes. Tell Aura whether the noise comes from the indoor unit, outdoor unit or pipework and whether it changes with operating mode. Photographs of the model labels help establish parts and support availability.
Why a refrigerant top-up is not a diagnosis
A sealed refrigeration system should not need routine replenishment simply through normal use. If refrigerant loss is suspected, the cause and appropriate repair need investigation by a suitably qualified person. Ask what testing and repair are proposed before approving additional work.
Prices and what to confirm
The price depends on your equipment, access and the work required. Ask Aura to confirm the charge and what it covers before booking.
| Price component | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Diagnosis / attendance | Confirm the initial charge, time included and any travel or out-of-hours rate. |
| Parts and additional labour | Agree the repair after the cause and required components are identified. |
| Return visits | Check whether parts collection, a return appointment and testing are included. |

Send these details with your enquiry
- Indoor and outdoor model numbers
- Error code and selected operating mode
- Which rooms or units are affected
- Leak location, noise or recent service history
Include your postcode and a callback number. Aura can then confirm whether a repair appointment, maintenance visit or installation survey is the right next step.
Enquire about air conditioning repairsYour questions answered
Can you repair air conditioning installed by another company?
Send the equipment details and fault description. Aura must confirm model support, access and parts availability before accepting the work.
Is re-gassing included in a repair?
Not automatically. Any refrigerant work depends on diagnosis, the equipment and an agreed quotation.
Should I keep running a leaking indoor unit?
Stop using it if safe to do so through the normal controls and arrange assessment. Avoid contact with water near electrical components.
Which areas does Aura cover?
Aura is based in Uddingston and considers air conditioning repairs across Glasgow and Lanarkshire, with suitable installations across Central Scotland. Confirm your postcode, equipment support and appointment availability directly.
Local service coverage
Aura travels from Uddingston. Check availability for your postcode before booking, especially for urgent repairs.
